Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Albert Guest - Galle Fort, I was captivated by the charm of this beautifully preserved home, steeped in history and warmth. The good family running the guesthouse, Dilki and her mother Indrani, were really good hosts who treated us to the most delicious home-cooked breakfasts filled with local flavors—a true highlight of my mornings. The accommodation's location is unmatched, nestled within Galle Fort and just a leisurely stroll from key attractions like the Dutch Church and Galle Lighthouse, ensuring that we were perfectly positioned to explore the area. With the comfortable room providing a cozy retreat after our daily adventures and the attentive housekeeping services adding a touch of luxury, it felt like a home away from home. As a landscape photographer, the balcony view overlooking the vibrant streets below was a dreamy spot for me to unwind and capture the essence of local life, while the antique furnishings added an extra layer of character that I adored. I left Albert Guest feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the unique experience it offered—a hidden gem that I would highly recommend to fellow travelers seeking tranquility and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality.
